Introduction to character development

My first reaction to the assignment is to try and create a long, skinny man. My first thoughts picture him in a black and dark red, long trench coat, with scarf and gloves to match. His bones are sharp and pointy, long fingers and a ridged nose. The mans arms are longer then usual, and may carry an item such as an umbrella or cane. The man's eyes are dark and his head is very rectangular, unsure on the hair as to yet. Clean face, no boils or warts, this makes for a more intellectual character. Maybe some glasses (although these can be seen as friendly). The man is not old and has a good posture, however is clumsy and very difficult to prodict.

This is my first imagination of the character I wish to develope, a man who has the image of evil but with a comedic personality. This will change over the next few weeks, after doing research and looking at other villians.
